The Secret Seven Society consists of Peter, his sister Janet, and their friends Jack, Colin, George, Pam and Barbara. Although not an official member of the Secret Seven, Peter and Janet's golden spaniel Scamper also attends meetings. After all, he can be trusted not to give away any secrets to Jack's interfering sister Susie!
The Secret Seven are a secret society who hold regular meetings and organize things to do, whether it's helping the community in some way, solving mysteries that turn up, or just having fun playing Red Indians in the woods.
The Seven have a secret password, a badge, and a secret headquarters in a garden shed. The Seven are led by Peter and include Peter's sister Janet, and their friends Jack, Colin, George, Pam and Barbara. They are joined by their golden spaniel, Scamper.
Its original members were Black Orchid, Klarion, Miss X, Shade, the Changing Man, Simon Magus, Stiletto and Trigon; they are said to have committed suicide, but it is possible that Shade killed the rest of them under the influence of his Madness Vest and doesn't remember. Cyborg asked Shade to rebuild the team, as part of his efforts in the resistance against Aquaman and Wonder Woman.[1] This new team would include Abra Kadabra, Amethyst, Enchantress, Mindwarp, Raven and Zatanna.[2] Cyborg invites Enchantress and Shade to his resistance summit in Gotham City, and the seven vote to join them.[3]
The second of our secret seven wildlife species is a slender animal resembling a grey house cat! Their colour varies from grey to dark grey, from reddish to dusky red stripes on their legs and tail. African wild cats are larger than small spotted cats and they usually have more spots. These cats can easily interbreed with domestic cats, but the cross-breeds will have shorter legs and lack the reddish tinge on the back of their ears which African wild cats are known for, however the cross-breeds will have a red nose instead of the normal black nose. You can find these cats everywhere, provided there is sufficient dense thicket, tall grass and rocks for shelters.
The fourth one in the secret seven roll-call is a rather small, cat-like animal. The large spotted genet are white or greyish-white with dark spots and stripes. Their tail is long and dark with white rings. The species has been split into the Large spotted genet with black spots, stripes and rings. And the Rusty-spotted genet with rust-brown stripes and spots. These animals like to be in well-watered areas with sufficient undergrowth.
Peter is one of the main characters in the Secret Seven Book series and is a member and leader of the Secret Seven society. He lives with his mother, father and his sister Janet, who is also a member. Peter's father is one of the main helpers for the society as he handles what is beyond the power of secret seven and mostly handles the case to the kind faced inspector. Peter has a golden spaniel, which is named Scamper , (and he is sooooooooooooo cute!) who is often considered as a real member of society. As per the book \"Well Done Secret Seven\", he also has a pet kitty cat.
The Secret Seven originally appeared as 7 separate short stories written by Enid, each pertaining to one of the seven characters. She also developed a short story regarding how the secret society was formed. Although these seven individual stories were originally unnoticed they were later published in a single volume.
This story picks up with rising action, as a great treasure is stolen. What makes this particularly unusual and albeit interesting is that the children stand as witness, as the thief flees the scene of the robbery. This causes the seven to put forth all they have in order to catch the criminal.
they realize the so called tree house intruder may be residing in their new home for dire reasons. This puts the group of seven to the test once again to unveil the issue, and to assist this new person who has invited themselves into their midst. This shockingly leads to the group having to thwart a gang of robbers who are planning a detailed heist.
This was published in 1953. Things definitely become cut from a much more serious nature in this installment. George, one of children from the group of seven is banished from the society by none other than his father. It is revealed that this was the case due to the group practicing their shadowing and following techniques. As if things are not already odd enough now, dogs begin to start vanishing. Once again, thieves prove themselves to be quite persistent and resilient, as they are revealed to be the cause behind sudden and rapid disappearance of the dogs. Some of the children letter end up kidnapped by the group, as the situation turns disparate.
This was published in 1955. Disaster most definitely strikes in this installment. The group of seven is horrified to realize their old meeting area has been dismantled by a gardener. This definitely poses issues for future cases.
All this unlikely news leaves the seven confused and wondering where to go in the adventure. The seven all thought Grim was a fierce, bad tempered man when in fact he is kind and helps his wife. There was only thing left to do and that is to watch the house at night to see who comes in and out. So during the night, the four boys go back to Bartlett Lodge to keep a look-out. Colin is to stand near the gates, George behind the tree near the balcony and Jack and Peter to go up the tree to see if anyone comes through the window of the mysterious room. Hardly daring to breath, the boys finally hear something. A man is slowly creeping up on the tree. The man knocks a couple of times on the window and the curtains are opened. A huge burst of light suddenly comes through. To the astonishment of Jack and Peter, the man is Georgie Grim. How could it be The seven were convinced of his honesty and now he was breaking into a house where a potential burglar was staying! But is this all it appears to be Read Three Cheers, Secret Seven to find out!
At some point during their junior year at Emory, each of these seven students felt a mysterious, thrilling tap on the shoulder: an intriguing invitation to become part of a secret society more than a century old.
Although many may think, like I did before doing this research, that The Secret Seven - the first title in this series - is the first time we are introduced to the seven, this is not the case. In 1947, At Seaside Cottage a small volume was published by Brockhampton Press and featured the main characters of Peter and Janet, with their golden spaniel, Scamper. A year later in 1948, Secret of the Old Mill was published, in which Peter and Janet, after reading a book called The Secret Society, decide to create a secret society of their own, using the old mill on a hill near their home as a meeting place. They invite five of their friends to join them, and so The Secret Seven are born.
Peter is the head and leader of the secret society. He is very strict with members and takes his responsibilities very seriously indeed! - So woe betide any member who may forget the current S.S. password or forgets their badge when it comes to meeting times. One of my favourite passages about Peter is in Secret Seven on the Trail, where Peter wants to disband the society and stop meetings until the Christmas holidays. '\"Nothing ever turns up in term-time\" repeated Peter, who liked getting his own way.' When the others disagree with him, and threaten to run the society without him, he backs down, but only slightly - still having the last word and compromising by agreeing to a meeting only if anything turns up, which he is certain won't happen. To me, this shows his strong and stubborn nature but, without his natural abilities as a leader and his organization and delegation skills, the society would undoubtedly not run as smoothly!
4) Secret Seven on the Trail (1952) - The fourth title in the series. Susie (Jack's annoying sister), is really being at her most annoying, setting up her own secret society. However, what started out as a joke, really turns into a dangerous adventure starting at Tigger's Barn and ending at a foggy railyard. Are the Secret Seven clever enough to outwit the villains
5) Go Ahead Secret Seven (1953) - In this fifth adventure, the Seven are having some shadowing practice. George shadows a sinister looking man, who gets him into trouble with the police and he has to resign from the Secret Seven. Certain that something is up, the rest of the gang spy on this man - what is he really up to Can they solve the mystery, so that George is reinstated to their secret society.
7) Secret Seven Win Through (1955) - In the seventh title in the series, it's the Easter holiday but what a blow is in store, as the Secret Seven's shed (their meeting place) is being painted. Soon they find a new secret meeting place - a cave. A mystery begins however, when they realize that an intruder has also been using the cave at night. Determined to catch the intruder, the Seven set a trap...
Solve the mystery with the Secret Seven - everyone's favourite detective club! These timeless stories are perfect for young fans of mystery, adventure or detective series. In book seven, the Secret Seven have a fantastic new hiding place, but somebody else has been using it, too. Whoever it is is going there at night, and the gang are determined to catch the cheeky intruder, whatever it takes. Solve the mystery! The story was first published in 1955. This recording has been amended since the previous version (2013) to revert to the original text wherever possible.
Finally, here is the first appearance on CD of Raymond Scott's 1960 album The Unexpected. This was Scott's swansong to the small-group jazz format he'd helped pioneer in the mid-'30s, but anyone expecting to encounter an updated version of Scott's echt-1937 Quintette will be in for a disappointment. All of Scott's productions of the LP era, save Soothing Sounds for Baby, are a mixed
